Lesley Elizondo

Writer/Director/Producer
"From where" is a very personal story that stems from my experience transitioning into adulthood within a merge of two cultures and the conflict that some of their fundamental values created in the family. "From Where" is the first project I wrote and directed and by default ended up producing. It became a project where I was forced to act quickly and compensate for extreme changing environments. I primarily believe in collaborative art and this film is the product of an incredible collaboration of artists and craftsmen. I was very lucky to have found a strong support network with an extraordinary crew and an astounding group of professional talented artists, all of which fought hard along my side to make this film possible. "From where" was made possible with a very small budget of which I was fortunate to have been selected to receive through a grant from the Film and Electronic Arts Department of CSULB's narrative production selection in 2013, a grant made possible by the Hollywood Foreign Press to the school. I am hoping those who come across "From Where" can relate to the familial coming of age conflicts that arise when two cultures are present and I hope for the audience to begin a dialog of understanding the values of each side. Thank you very much for your attention.
